Experience what Woody Harrelson, the cast and production crew did when they met MintyMindy our 1972 VW microbus.
We were asked by the producers of Lost in London if they could use MintyMindy for filming. When MintyMindy rolled up to the set Woody, the cast and crew absolutely adored her originality and pristine condition for a vintage 1972 vehicle.
Did you know Woody has a 1982 Westafalia type 25 in Maui!
We had to remove the middle bench seat and fabricate a bracket for a single passenger seat to be fitted facing the rear seat so the cameraman could sit in the van and capture the action for the scene. The rear bulkhead over the engine compartment was sound-proofed to within an inch of its life as the air cooled engine was too loud and affecting the quality of sound recording!
Below are a few pics of her on set and "Hippified" by the art department for her scene which was us driving Woody, the prince and his sons from the restaurant scene in Grape street WC1 to the nightclub scene in Southampton Row WC1. They filmed within the van and it was broadcast live to over 500 cinemas in the USA and The Picture House cinema in Soho simultaneously.
